Synergy project: APDIME Toolkit

Synergy project

The Synergy Project provides technical assistance and services to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to design, evaluate, and coordinate HIV/AIDS programs and identify and disseminate lessons learned from these programs.

Comprehensive toolkit

The Synergy Project APDIME Toolkit was developed to help public health specialists and program managers improve the Assessment, Planning, Design, Implementation Monitoring, and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS interventions. The toolkit is a resource to support program designers and managers in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support programming in the developing world. The APDIME Toolkit is a window through wich you can learn from program outcomes, training guides and research findings. The user is guided to tools including worksheets, budget templates survey instruments, data and software produced by many experienced organizations in HIV/AIDS programming around the world. You can use the ideas and tools that suit your needs, project design and management efforts.

  • The APDIME Toolkit Version 2.0 can be assessed on internet ( website) or ordered on cd-rom. The tools and resources are organized into five interrelated modules that represent the five phases of the programming cycle. Each module contains a step-by-step methodology for conducting that phase of the cycle and acts as an index for related materials and resources.
  • The Synergy APDIME Toolkit database contains annotated citations to over thousand technically reviewed tools, resources and documents cited in the Synergy APDIME Toolkit. All documents are relevant to Assessment, Planning, Design, Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS programs and many have weblinks to full text versions.
