Power of sport for fighting HIV/AIDS

Is fighting this epidemic only a goal in certain projects of your organisation and/or is it a cross-cutting issue?

Addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic is the main objective of the LSPS module. Right To Play's SportHealth program within each country addresses issues and areas beyond the above. There is the implementation of the C2C (=Coach to Coach) module which builds the capacity of coaches to implement and manage sport for development programs. The Red Ball Child Play Module addresses different aspects of holistic child development. Factored into all three modules are cross cutting themes to ensure gender and disability are mainstreamed within all the modules. In keeping with the Millennium Development Goals to ensure all development programs in sub-Saharan Africa address this epidemic, Right To Play in both its community and refugee camp based projects is in compliance with this. Some countries e.g. Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Mali have as primary objective to address HIV/AIDS prevention.
