Effects

Although the project is still in progress, several successes have been achieved. By assuming responsibilities, girls and women develop essential skills that may be imparted, including self-confidence, leadership and negotiating techniques. The following facts attest to this:

  • Girls selected by their team as representatives on the girls' committees organise competitions and tournaments.
  • All referees and First Aid providers are girls.
  • All staff members are women; four out of five play football, and three out of four are girls from the target group.
  • The monitoring and evaluation team consists entirely of girls.
  • All coaches are girls.
  • Girls help draft annual plans and long-term strategies.
